CRU-8/P Oxygen Mask for Fighters
Designed to connect to the emergency chute harness and with connection to an emergency oxygen
supply and the aircraft’s primary oxygen supply. In case of EGRESS, this provides emergency oxygen… It is an
earlier valve as was used in the late 1950s and 60s until replaced in most aircraft with the CRU-60/P.
The block on the right is specialized for tactical fighter/ejection-seat aircraft and is not a
baseline, standard CRU-8/P
* The Three-Pin Receptacle: Instead of a permanently attached hose, it has a standalone,
machined silver 3-pin quick-disconnect receiver on top to accept a detachable mask hose
fitting. [1]
* The "Toward Snap"; Sleeve: This rotating white nylon tracking band controls the detachment
parameters specifically for this lighter configuration. [1]
* The Auxiliary Port: Unlike a baseline passive CRU-8/P block, this particular unit is a modified
or specialized CRU-8 block with an auxiliary emergency oxygen elbow attachment fastened
directly onto the lower casing.
